A women starch the sago palm in their last remaining forest in Zanegi village, Merauke, Papua. The Malind Anim tribe are hunter gatherers who rely on the forest for their livelihoods.
Forest in Zanegi village is under threat to a project called MIFEE (Merauke Integrated Food and Energy Estate), converting forest for industrial trees such as eucalyptus and accacia for chip and pellet to burn for energy production.
